Hallo Kitty

ha was talking to fid about how i started out knitting/ crochet earlier, and suddenly remembered my fat kitty.
my mum used to knit but she wasnt rly keen on me learning.
she used to go to this knitting shop in Eastpoint, Simei where i used to live, and shed sit thr for hours knitting with the other aunties.
i wanted to learn but she wouldnt allow it.
so instead she paid the owner of the shop $10 to give me a crash course on crochet, which was to make this Hello Kitty. lol.
the lady photocopied the pattern sheet from a hello kitty pattern book and taught me how to read the symbols.
so yes this hello kitty was totally out of shape and i sewed the tail on her BACK not her butt HAHAHA but still i love it for being my first project, because it got me so excited about crochet/ knitting.

knitting i soon picked up on my own from a book.
actly idk why i was so interested in it too. i just knew i wanted to learn it, jst like how i picked up making friendship bands and paper roses, papier mache and whatnot. i think i was jst basically interested in craft and tried evrything i saw frm magazines, craft books, whatever.

anw my point is, everyone starts as an amateur. youre never too old to learn.
and crochet and knitting is relatively easy to pick up and helps you pass time.
im glad i was actly interested in something like that since i was a kid, because now at least i can say i have a skill; other than this i dont think i have anything else. ha.

and yes many things about knitting/ crochet, you have to know frm experience. many things cant be taught.
and im still learning.
like how today, when i was using a needle too big for my hand and it kept slipping out, making me drop stitches a million times -.-
im aways so angsty and impatient, sometimes i surprise even myself with how i can sit and knit for hours.

maybe its just something in me. haha.

CAMO KNIT

finally after a long long time i have something to post.
the back of a sposd camo knit dress im doing, my 5th garment.
it didnt turn out tt great though cause it sort of resembles a world map (can you see africa right there!) rather than camo… but o well me being me, i knitted this without knitting a gauge first OR without a pattern, changed colours at whim and struggled with the yarns on public transport.

and yes thats all, im qt sure i wont meet the deadline for the photoshoot, bless me.

Aggy & …

The other day i happened to come across a shoot with Stella Tennant in it:

of course they are really quite different but i think she does resemble aggy in some way or another in this shoot.

anyway ive practically worshipped aggy since she appeared, but it sort of died down when she decided to ditch her modelling career sometime at the beginning of 2010?
i havent been seeing many updates of her too so i didnt rly keep up, but this shoot reminded me of her so i went to her ‘online shrine’ and i think i fell in love with her all over again.
some people have tried to argue with me that there are better models than aggy and her career went downhill, and this and that, but i think im so obsessed with her that im unreasonably biased towards her in some way. lol.
i do like other models like Sasha, Tao, Devon, Stam and so on, but Agyness is really quite a different thing. I really havent seen anyone quite like her, from her unarguably AWESOME and original dress sense, to her versatile everchanging poses- aggy is really one of a kind.
ive never seen her pose the same way twice, and whatever she does in a shoot is so  odd yet fits in perfectly in her own way. gosh i do love aggy. im following her on twitter too and she seems so happy all the time, so happy with whatever she does. how lovely if we could all live like this \-:

but then again id be living like this too, if i was tall and beautiful. lol.

ive been so deadly busy lately that this is the only picture ive taken of my work:

ha ha ha so fail, yes i didnt edit or whatever its from my lousy bb tts not a bb. because its a smartphone tts not smart.
thats a 5needle circular knit btw, because i was lazy to go get a circular needle, and this is cheaper too anw, daiso. hee hee.

speaking of which, i do need to invest in a good camera soon. not for zipai / accessorizing purposes whatsoever,  i really jst need a good one tt can take good night shots. gonna invest in one after fyp!

and lastly ive made the decision to not loan out my clothes for shoots anymore. especially when im not around. ok it depends, but i guess i cant risk it anymore cause 3 times my garment either got permanently soiled, lost, or torn. cant risk that anymore since my items are vintage and thus irreplaceable. i dont mean to sound like a bitch, but its true that these one-of-a-kind pieces can never be replaced and i cant do anything.

so it sucks, and life goes on, be back soon.

Photographer?

I need a photographer for my upcoming photoshoot for my fyp collection.
quite senseless to ask here since i have such low human traffic, but still asking jst in case:

i have some sort of an idea in mind already.

butve been so fricken busy lately ive got no time to update or anything so i kinda failed at making this dead space alive.

ive got my personal blog stashed somewhere but its got too much angst on it to be shown to the world, so i guess ill probably merge both blogs for conveniences sake when i come to terms with my anger management. ha-ha.

on a random note, there used to be this awesome vintage shop at army market (Golden Mile) and i went there today only to find that its closed. apparently it has been for ’2 years’. wow time flies i had no idea i havent been there in 2 years. whaaaaaat.

SIP

I was just telling kenneth how we were kinda always anticipating SIP in yr 1 and 2 and NOW when we are doing FYP, the time in SIP just seems rather blurred and honestly i cant rmb much about it. perhaps because it was repetitive and it was only 3 months. but either ways, i decided today to clean up some of my sip work and post them here, so here they are:

Do pardon me if it isnt that great cause i honestly think (after this 3 mth stint as a ‘graphic designer’) i am not that great at spotting discrepancies in layout and stuff cause after allllll im not ‘trained’ in it, but no excuses anyway, trying to improve on my own.

Francis Yves Patrick

We were so bored with FYP we decided to create an alter ego called Francis Yves Patrick and i think he made life a bit more interesting since hes an angmoh mannequin lol? thats how sad and delusional FYP has made us.

anw have completed my cape which turned out too big, moving on to my knitted sweater. cant wait to move on to knitting my dress.

ive been too lazy to take pictures so i havent been posting; hopefully ill rmb to do so soon.

on a rly random note,  caught the movie Time Traveller last Sunday and it was rlly awesome. i love Japan and i wish i was there. sighzzz.
